How do I know if I’m pregnant?

Symptoms of pregnancy are different for every woman. Some women may experience no symptoms at all. The most common pregnancy symptom is a missed period. Other common symptoms of early pregnancy include:

  • Fatigue
  • Nausea/vomiting
  • Tender/swollen breasts

You will find more information on our Pregnant? Page. Take a look and see if you’re experiencing one or more of those symptoms too. The best way to know if you’re pregnant is to come to the Pregnancy Resource Center for free pregnancy testing. While an at-home test can be accurate, you still want to take a medically verified pregnancy test to be sure.

How much will my appointment cost?

All of our services, educational opportunities, resources, and consultations are free and confidential at the Pregnancy Resource Center. We help every woman and man facing an unplanned pregnancy with the support they need during this challenging time.

Can I bring someone with me?

Absolutely! Our staff wants to make sure you feel safe and comfortable during your visit. If bringing someone along helps with this, feel free to bring someone you trust.

Can I be pregnant and have an STD?

Yes. According to the CDC, pregnancy won’t keep you from being infected from the same STDs as women who aren’t pregnant. Pregnancy doesn’t protect you or your unborn baby from getting infected. Whether you think you may be infected or not, STD/STI testing should be done regularly, particularly if you have multiple partners. Many STDs do not have noticeable symptoms at first, so testing is important for you and your partner.

Will my insurance company know about my appointment?

Because all of our services and consultations are free, we have no reason to contact an insurance provider. We value your privacy and follow all HIPPA laws regarding client confidentiality. We will never disclose your visit without your permission, including to your insurance company.

What if I don’t know my next steps?

Our staff is available to discuss your unplanned pregnancy options, including adoption, abortion, and parenting. We can talk through the pros and cons of each one. We promise to listen to your concerns and not pressure you in any direction. We will only offer unbiased, factual information about each option.
